WAUSAU – This year’s second Downtown Wausau Dining Week will be held Oct. 15-19. Take your appetite with you if you go.

Throughout the week, diners will have the opportunity to sample several three-course price-fixed menus for lunch and dinner, ranging in price from $7-15 for lunch and $12-35 for dinner, depending on the restaurant. Ten downtown restaurants will participate. Some restaurants will create new menu items for the event and others will highlight their customers’ classic favorites.

Participating restaurants are 319 Bistro, Back When Café, City Grill, Daly’s, La Prima, J. Gumbo’s, Jalapeno’s, Malarkey’s/Townie’s, Polito’s and Peking Restaurant. Restaurants will continue serving their regular menus as well, and reservations are not generally required.

Restaurant owners say this is the perfect time to support the local community and eat tasty food.

“This week is a great opportunity for people to experience great savings on quality, artisan lunches and dinner prepared by your community, small, locally owned businesses,” said Rollie Thomas, owner of La Prima Deli,” in a Wausau River District news release.

“You will be truly amazed!” said Mitch Meurette, co-owner of Peking Restaurant, in the release.

Wausau hosted its first Downtown Wausau Dining Week in April 2016 and the event drew thousands of diners to downtown restaurants.

Wausau River District is a nonprofit Main Street America program whose mission is to promote and facilitate the economic vitality and historic preservation of downtown Wausau for the benefit of the entire community.
