WAUSAU — Who would make health care decisions if you couldn’t speak for yourself because of an injury or illness?
Aspirus is hosting a free community program from noon to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 7 titled, “Brewing the Conversation – About Advance Care Planning” at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Advance Care Planning is a process of planning for future medical care in case you are unable to make your own decisions.
“Brewing the Conversation” encourages you to begin having conversations about your health care wishes in a relaxed atmosphere. It is a process of understanding, reflecting on and discussing future medical decisions, including end-of-life preferences. Advance directives can be completed by anyone older than 18 and should be updated when choices for health care change.
The conversation will be centered around reflecting on experiences, values and beliefs. We will discuss how to get help with a written advance directive; and you will be able to register for one-on-one help. This is a free program, but advanced registration is requested. Coffee and other refreshments will be available.
Call the Aspirus Customer Contact Center at 715-847-2380 or 800-847-4707 to register.
