WAUSAU — It’s time to celebrate senior women.

The first ever Wausau Area Silver Pageant will be held in February and organizers need your nominations to help to make it happen.

If you know of a woman who has reached the “age of elegance” (75 years of age or older) who should be recognized for her accomplishments, you can nominate her. Other criteria for nominees:

  • Must live in Marathon County
  • Is physically/mentally able to attend the pageant in its entirety
  • Will provide an escort (husband, son, relative, friend or other)
  • Must be able to participate in preliminary interviews as assessments will be conducted prior to final selection

The purpose of the event, which will be conducted in pageant form, is to give senior women in the community a voice and platform to share their stories, lives and accomplishments with future generations.

The event will be held on Feb. 23 at Wausau East High School.

Nomination forms can be picked up at Mountain Terrace, 3312 Terrace Court, Wausau, or by calling Theresa Haase at 715-848-6257.

Nominations are due to Mountain Terrace Senior Living in Wausau on Dec. 15.
