WAUSAU — Peoples State Bank will collect donations for the Military Support Group of Rhinelander to send care packages to veterans and active service members from Wisconsin who are overseas. The donation drive starts Oct. 22 and concludes Nov. 13.

The public is encouraged to participate by dropping off items in donation bins at all central and northern Wisconsin Peoples State Bank branches. Donation items needed include non-perishable food items, batteries, blankets, stamps and toiletries.

“Peoples is again proud to collect donations to support active military service personnel and veterans,” said President and CEO Scott Cattanach in a news release. “We often take for granted their sacrifice—but enjoy our country’s freedoms and security. Let’s remember them this Veteran’s Day and donate to show our thanks.”

The Military Support Group of Rhinelander supports both veterans and active military members and their families throughout Wisconsin. The group also supports the Wounded Warriors program and Survivor’s Outreach Services. Last year, Peoples contributed more than 7,300 items and $575 in cash donations, according to the news release.

A full list of items can be found on the Peoples State Bank website at bankpeoples.com or at each location.
