BARRON, Wis. — Police are asking for the public’s help locating two vehicles of interest in connection with the death of a Barron, Wis. couple and the disappearance of their 13-year-old daughter, Jayme Closs.

The first vehicle is either a 2004-2010 black Acura MDX or a 2006-2010 black Ford Edge, according to state justice officials.

The second vehicle is believed to be a 2008-2014 red/orange Dodge Challenger.

Anyone who spotted vehicles matching these descriptions in the general area of Barron between approximately Oct. 8 and Oct. 22 should contact the Barron County tip line by phone, text or email. Contact information is listed below.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said the vehicles may have been traveling near the Closs family’s home on the night that James and Denise Closs were killed and their 13-year-old daughter, Jayme, disappeared. He said he didn’t have information on the cars’ license plates.

More than 200 law enforcement personnel are actively working the investigation and more than 1,300 tips have poured in since the investigation began Oct. 15. Police say they received a 911 call from Denise Closs’s cell phone; the door to the couple’s home was kicked in and both victims were shot to death. A massive ground search has been underway for Jayme Closs, but so far searchers have come up empty.

Police say Jayme Closs is not a suspect in her parents’ deaths and is believed to be in danger. An Amber Alert was issued hours after her disappearance
