The village of Kronenwetter met Tuesday, Oct. 23 for their regularly scheduled meeting, which included a wide range of discussions on water, broadband and budget issues facing the community.

Board members have their work cut out for them on many different issues. One of those issues is water quality in some parts of the village. Comments were brought forward by board members who heard concerns from residents about sediment coming from their faucets inside their homes. Village Administrator Richard Downey is recommending the property and infrastructure committee collect pubic feedback on the village water and return the results to the board at a future meeting.

The board also voted to create a group to promote citizen engagement and telecommunication/broadband to encourage the community to be more involved in the growth of the village, while addressing the concerns of poor phone and internet reception.

The village’s budget for the upcoming year was discussed at length. For a look at the 2019 draft budget, visit this page. Village taxes for homeowners are expected to rise by about 1.2 percent next year, which equates to about $8.06 for a $150,000 home.
