Faith in Action of Marathon County will hold its sixth annual Gift of Hope Holiday Care Drive on Dec. 1.
It will provide area seniors in need, many of whom are homebound, with hand-delivered care packages containing food and personal care items to brighten their holidays.
The following items are needed:
Food items:
Canned chicken, tuna or other meat
Canned soup, stew and spaghetti
Canned vegetables and fruits
Saltine cracker sleeves
Individual packages of cookies
Instant potatoes/rice
Cereal/Oatmeal
Peanut butter/jelly
Hot chocolate mix/tea/coffee
Personal care items:
Lip balm
Hand lotion
Shampoo/Conditioner
Toothbrush/Toothpaste
Kleenex
Body soap
Other:
Hats, gloves, scarves
Blankets
$10 grocery gift cards
Puzzle books
Greeting cards
Donations are accepted at the following locations through Nov. 25:

Volunteers are needed to help assemble the packages from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dec. 1 at the Faith in Action office at 630 Adams St., Wausau (inside Immanuel Lutheran Church). In addition, volunteers are needed to help deliver the packages to area seniors starting on Dec. 1.
