MARATHON COUNTY – In October, the Wausau Metropolitan Planning Commission authorized the creation of the Citizens Transit Advisory Committee (CTAC) to aid in the implementation of the current Transit Development Plan (TDP) and provide assistance on transit issues.

Metro area residents are now able to apply to the committee with the release of the official application on the Wausau MPO website.

The committee is looking for candidates to apply from the City of Wausau, City of Schofield, Village of Rothschild, Village of Weston, Town of Rib Mountain, as well as representatives of the business, healthcare, education, disabled, and transit user communities. Applicants should reside in the MPO Planning area communities of: Cities of Mosinee, Schofield, and Wausau, the Villages of Kronenwetter, Rothschild, and Weston, and the Towns of Bergen, Maine, Mosinee, Rib Mountain, Stettin, Texas, Wausau, and Weston.

The CTAC is an advisory committee of the MPO Commission that will advise on transit issues and implement the TDP recommendations.

The Marathon County Metropolitan Planning Commission has been designated by the governor of Wisconsin as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) to perform transportation planning activities for the Wausau area in accordance with Federal regulations.
