Metro Ride will give free bus rides on election day, Nov. 6, to help ensure residents can get to their polling places.

The free service is sponsored by the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU), the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW Local 388), the United Steel Workers (USW Local 2-224) and the Marathon County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO. ATU Local 1168 represents most Metro Ride employees.

“We welcome this sponsorship and we hope that the generosity of these labor organizations will make it easier for people to participate in the democratic process,” said Transit Director Greg Seubert, in a news release.
