WPS Health Solutions plans to fill more than 100 claims processing positions in Wausau in the next four months to accommodate the company’s expanded role in supporting programs for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the company announced today.

The announcement comes as WPS celebrates the 15th anniversary for the Wausau office in the Westwood Center. The office, which opened in November 2003, has about 350 employees who either work there or are connected to it through the WPS Remote Worker Program.

“Our new round of hiring is another example of WPS’s commitment to the Wausau area,” said Brian Brugger, executive vice president of WPS Military and Veterans Health, in a news release. “We value the contributions of our employees in Wausau and north-central Wisconsin. We look forward to adding to the Wausau staff to help with our expanded work with TriWest Healthcare Alliance and VA.”

WPS supports TriWest Healthcare Alliance in administering the Patient-Centered Community Care and Veterans Choice Program for Veterans in three regions of the United States. VA gave TriWest Healthcare Alliance responsibility for the remaining three regions after another contractor’s agreement expired on Sept. 30.

TriWest Healthcare Alliance and WPS will ensure that veterans have ready access to community care when needed until the next generation of community care contracts – Community Care Networks – are awarded and implemented.
