WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Students and staff have been evacuated from Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School due to a potential bomb threat allegedly made by a student, officials said.
“At this time we do have a student who admitted to making the threat at Lincoln High School, and law enforcement does not believe the threat to be credible,” School Superintendent Craig Broeren wrote in a public Facebook post.
Law enforcement is sweeping the building and following up on additional investigations for absolute certainty, Broeren said.
All students and staff members are safe and normal activities are expected to resume soon, officials said.

Attention Parents/Guardians ~ a message from Supt. Craig Broeren:
High school officials were recently made aware of a potential bomb threat at Lincoln High School. We are in the process of evacuating students to a safe location and will be following up with parents as appropriate. Please do not come to Lincoln High School as we will continue to provide information and work to resolve the circumstance as soon as possible. Phone calls at Lincoln High School will not be answered as staff will be evacuated with students. Please know additional communication will be provided via our Skylert notification system and the District web page. At this time, we are not aware of any threats at other school buildings.
We are in communication with law enforcement and will have their involvement throughout the process. Please know that we will do everything possible to ensure the safety of students and staff in this circumstance. If this cannot be resolved in a reasonable time frame, we will facilitate an organized dismissal of students at an alternate location. If necessary, this will be communicated at some point in time today.
