RIB MOUNTAIN — Thanks to winter’s early arrival, Granite Peak Ski Area, 3605 N. Mountain Road, expects to open for the season on Saturday, Nov. 17.
Snow making began in earnest one week ago and has been running full force both day and night, according to the Granite Peak website. With favorable weather for snow making in the forecast, Granite Peak officials are looking forward to a long, satisfying ski season ahead.
On opening weekend, skiers will see 10 runs open and the High Speed six-person lift Comet, along with one surface lift on the beginner area.
Granite Peak at Rib Mountain State Park features more than 400 total acres and more than 200 ski-able acres with 75 runs.
