Mary Peters
Mary Jane Peters, 95, of Wausau died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018.
Mary Jane was born on Nov. 4, 1923, in Sun Prairie to the late Theodore and Madeline (Delaney) Boebel. She married Raymond Peters on Nov. 23, 1942, in El Paso, Texas. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1982.
She was active in the Wausau Country Club and the Wausau Curling Club, having represented Wisconsin in the senior women’s national curling championship in Anchorage, Alaska. She was also an avid bridge player and lifelong fan of the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. Above all, was her love for family.
She is survived by her children Mike (Paula) Peters, Betsy (Bruce) Weinkauf, Ted (Rosemary) Peters, and Rob (Rebecca Smith) Peters; grandchildren Jeff (Melissa) Weinkauf, Dan (Anna) Weinkauf, Erin Peters, Sydney Peters, and Riley Peters; great grandchildren Lucca, Ava, Vienne, Chase, Devan, and Brady Weinkauf, Colton Peters and Tripp Peterson.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Peters and brother Robert Boebel.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church, 621 N. Second St., Wausau. The Msgr. Rev. Mark Pierce will officiate. Visitation will take place at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

John Artus
John James Artus, 65, Marathon, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, Nov. 14 , 2018, surrounded by his loving family at Mayo St. Mary’s, Rochester, Minnesota.
He was born Nov. 23, 1952, son of the late John L. and Leila (Voigt) Artus, and grew up on the family farm in the town of Stettin. He was a graduate of Marathon High School and earned an associate degree in management from Northcentral Technical College.
On July 10, 1982, he married Diane (Rauen) Artus at St. Mary’s Church in Marathon, being grateful for 36 wonderful years together.
John was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, father-in-law and friend. He loved his grandchildren with all his being and his favorite thing was to pick them up after school and daycare and take them for ice cream at McDonald’s. John liked to be in the kitchen baking and cooking for family gatherings and work parties. Family was so very important to him. He loved get-togethers, enjoying good food and great conversation and in his preparation no detail was missed. John loved the water and spending time at Lake Somo in Tomahawk. He enjoyed hosting numerous foreign exchange students from Germany and Spain. He still maintained contact with each of them and recently enjoyed an amazing trip to Germany. John was a dedicated lifelong member of the Rib Falls United Methodist Church and loved to sing in his small country church. He also sang with the St. Mary’s Worship Hymn and Cantata groups. John loved music! He was extremely dedicated and proud to work at Marathon Cheese Corp. for 47 years. He loved to talk “Marathon Cheese” with anyone he met. He took great pride in his “second” job within the Marathon School District as a custodian for many years. His strong faith in God lead him to be the kind, caring, compassionate and loving man that he was. John was the “calm in the storm” for many people, with always a patient and listening ear and encouraging words to express, “It would be OK.”
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Diane; four children, James (Wendy) Rauen, Ashley (Jay) Hammerstrom, Chelsey Artus and Lesley Artus, all of Marathon; grandchildren Angelica and Joseph Rauen, Brexton King, Ty and Aly Hammerstrom, Jordin (Morgan) Aschbrenner and Jaye Zastrow, all of Marathon; one great grandchild Levi Aschbrenner; siblings Janis Artus, Jayne (James) Seeger, Jerry (Sally) Artus, Judy (Randy) DeBroux, and Jeff (Cindy) Artus; mother-in-law Barbara Rauen; brother and sister-in-laws Donna (Mike) Kaiser, Duane (Barb) Rauen and Doreen (Mark) Johnson; niece and nephews Jodi (Ryan) DeBroux, Justin (Traci) Seeger, Cody Raymond, Jeff, Jordan and Emily Artus; as well as many other loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Leila Artus, one infant son, John Matthew Artus, father-in-law Joseph Rauen and brother-in-law Robert Schmidlkofer.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marathon. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Rib Falls United Methodist Church, 154 E. 19th St., Marathon (Town of Rib Falls). Rev. Tim Gurlea will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Visitation on Wednesday will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at the Rib Falls United Methodist Church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mayo St. Mary’s Mary Brigh critical care unit 4D and 5G for the wonderful care and support extended to John and his family over the last three weeks.

Arthur “Jim” Dahm
Arthur “Jim” J. Dahm, 77, Wausau, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, after a lengthy illness at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. Jim was born to the late Arthur and Dorothy (Sturgal) Dahm in Wausau.
Jim graduated from D.C. Everest High School and after served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Jim loved to fish and was often quite successful at it and really enjoyed the many fishing trips he took with his friends. Woodworking was one of his passions, making small projects that he both sold and gave away. Jim was trained as a locksmith and opened up a locksmith shop.
He is survived by many extended family members and friends.
No services will be held.
Patricia Holm
Patricia Ann Holm, 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018.
Patricia was born on Nov. 27, 1950, to the late Richard W. Holm Sr and Gladys Gaetzman Holm in Wausau, Wisconsin.
She attended school in Wausau, Wisconsin. As a young adult, Patricia moved to North Central Health Care, where she resided for many years, and was known to everyone there, as Patti.
Patsy, as she was called during her childhood, loved going on outings with her parents and brothers. She loved her room at Mount View, where she could watch the airplanes come and go at the airport. She also loved the activities she attended there; like going to the fair, bus rides, watching movies and going to church and singing.
Patsy is survived by her brothers, Henry (Mary) Holm, Richard Jr. (Diana) Holm; niece, Jessica (Matt) Franson; nephews, Justin (Audra) Holm, and Richard Holm III. Patsy is further survived by her great niece and nephew, Kaya and Asher Franson; along with many cousins and friends.
Patti had a strong faith and enjoyed her visits with Fr. Robert Thorn, Norma Kipp and Dorothy Giallambardo, all who visited and prayed with her often.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at St. Matthew Catholic Parish, 221 S. 28th Ave., Wausau. Fr. Robert Thorn will officiate. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park.
A very special thank you to North Central Health Care and Mount View nursing staff for the wonderful care they showed Patti for many years.
