AMHERST, Wis. — One person has died and several people are injured following a Thanksgiving Day crash in Portage County, according to the Department of Transportation.

The two-vehicle crash was reported at about 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 10 and CTH B in Amherst.

Few details about the crash have been released. Police have not yet said how many people were injured and the severity of their injuries is not yet clear.

Westbound lanes on Hwy. 10 were closed for more than two hours after the crash, with traffic detoured onto CTH A and CTH KK. Officials say weather could have played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
