LAKE TOMAHAWK — The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office will sponsor a Wisconsin DNR certified snowmobile safety course in mid December.
The course will be offered in conjunction with the New-Tom Sno Fleas Snowmobile Club from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at the New-Tom Snow Fleas groomer barn, 6777 Badger Road, Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin.
Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1985, and is at least 12 years of age must have snowmobile safety certification to operate on public areas.
Students are now required to obtain a DNR customer ID number for any recreational safety class they attend. Contact the DNR at 1-888-936-7463 to obtain this number before the course begins.
Students must be 12 years old to enroll. There is no maximum age, and parents and adults are encouraged to enroll and participate in this course. Cost for the course is $10 per person.
