The Marathon County Public Library will host several events in the coming weeks at its various libraries.


Children can kick off the holiday season by writing a letter to Santa Claus. Parents can pick up a blank letter from Marathon County Public Library’s Athens or Hatley branches. Children can then drop off their completed letter in Santa’s Mailbox at the branches any time through Dec. 14. The library will send all the letters to the North Pole and children can expect to receive a handwritten response by mail in mid-December. Free.
