Wausau– Wausau East continued its impressive early season run as the Lumberjacks defeated Green Bay East 89-84 on Tuesday night.

East got 28 points from Gabe Krueger in a balanced attack.

Ryan LaCerte added 16 points, while Forrest Kronenberger had 13 points and Trey Buchberger and Ryan Keefe each scored 12.

East had a two point lead in the first half at 47-45, then kept the pressure up in the second half to secure the victory.

“We had players step up at crunch time and knock down huge free throws,” said coach Paul Dimka.  “Between Ryan, Ryan and Trey we went 8 for 8 over the last minutes of the game from the line, that was the difference.”

Green Bay East shot 47% from the field.  Wausau East was 33-59 for 55% from the floor.

Wausau East is now 4-0 and will take on Medford on December 7.
