FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) — Burglars targeting unlocked homes in Fond du Lac County have gotten away with 17 handguns, shotguns and rifles in the past two months.

The sheriff’s office says there have been five documented daytime break-ins during that time-span, and the thieves even left cash and jewelry untouched in some instances.

Investigators don’t yet have any suspects or leads. Authorities are urging homeowners to keep their doors locked and to report any suspicious activity, including anything documented by security cameras.
