TOWN OF SCOTT — Two people are in custody after deputies interrupted a burglary in progress at a rural Lincoln County home, according to police.

Just after 9 p.m. Friday, Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an alarm at a home in the town of Scott. Two people, who were wanted on felony warrants through the Wisconsin Dept. of Corrections for alleged probation violations, were taken into custody and remained in the Lincoln County Jail throughout the weekend.

Court records show 33-year-old Mark A. Lemke and 46-year-old Kim Ballenger, both of Merrill, are expected to appear Monday afternoon in Lincoln County Circuit Court on charges of burglary.
