WAUSAU — The Grand Theater has earned a spot in the 2018 Top 150 Theatre Venues Worldwide as compiled by Pollstar, the theater announced today.

According to a Grand Theater news release, the year has featured a record-setting 19 sold out shows and landed The Grand at the 143rd spot according to the publication’s 2018 Year End Edition. The recognition also marks the second consecutive year The Grand has appeared in the Top 150 rankings.

The Grand also ranked fifth overall for theaters with fewer than 1,300 seats and second overall in terms of similar
market size.

“(This year) has been an incredible year at The Grand, and to be recognized in Pollstar’s Top 150 worldwide
for the second consecutive year is a tribute to the hard work done by the entire team,” said The Grand’s executive director Sean Wright in the news release. “It’s certainly quite an accomplishment, and we are absolutely thrilled.

Pollstar is the worldwide trade publication for the concert and performing arts industry. The Grand has
been ranked along with such theaters as Radio City Music Hall (New York, New York), Ryman
Auditorium (Nashville, Tennessee) and Royal Albert Hall (London, United Kingdom).

“It’s great to be recognized with some of the elite venues in the world, and it motivates us to continue to present the best in the performing arts for our audiences to enjoy,” Wright said in the release.
