Blessings in a Backpack is seeking donations to help feed more than 1,000 children who attend more than a dozen local schools. Monetary donations are preferred over food donations.
You can donate to Blessings in a Backpack D.C. Everest-Wausau at bibdcewausau.org or at the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin under the Blessings in a Backpack D.C. Everest-Wausau Fund.
Blessings in a Backpack feeds 1,200 children on the weekends at 17 community schools. The weekend gap beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon and ending at 8 a.m. on Monday morning is a time that many children of struggling families go hungry as well as over the school holidays, according to Blessings in a Backpack.
