UPDATE, 12:20 p.m. — One person is dead and a second person is injured following a crash Friday west of Wausau in Marathon County, police said.

The crash was reported at 9:17 a.m. on Hwy. A just west of Hwy. O in the town of Berlin, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department.

Both victims are adults, police said. A third adult was not injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.

TOWN OF BERLIN — A portion of Hwy. A remains closed at 10:50 a.m. Friday following a two-vehicle crash that left at least two people injured.

The crash happened at about 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy. A and 128th Avenue in the town of Berlin. Witnesses say a pickup and large SUV were involved in the crash.

Traffic is being rerouted as the scene is being cleared.

There’s no word on what caused the crash or the extent of the injuries involved.
