MOSINEE — One hour after a single vehicle rollover injured at least one person on I-39 near Mosinee, a second rollover was reported just two miles away.

The first rollover was reported around 3:15 p.m. in the northbound lane near Hwy 153 at mile marker 179, according to police. One person was trapped inside the vehicle; the extent of that person’s injuries is not yet clear.

The second crash was reported at 4:20 p.m. on I-39 at mile marker 181, also in the northbound lane. There are no injuries in the second crash, but a child is trapped in a car seat and is waiting for extraction from the vehicle, according to preliminary information received by Wausau Pilot and Review.

The crashes are two in a series of incidents reported throughout Marathon County on ice-slick roads. On Friday morning, one person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. A in the town of Berlin.

No names have been released in any of the crashes.
