RACINE, Wis. (AP) — Divers in Racine have removed the body of a 30-year-old woman from a vehicle that drove into Lake Michigan.

A 911 caller reported early Sunday a vehicle had driven into the lake on the North Beach area of Racine and was floating. Law enforcement officers were unable to locate the vehicle. Members of the Racine County Water Rescue team were called in and began searching.

The vehicle was found in about 8 feet of water and was being pulled away from shore by the current. Divers were able to enter the vehicle and remove the woman, but she could not be revived.

The name of the woman was not released. The investigation continues.
