TOWN OF ELCHO — Emergency crews called to a blaze at a home in the Langlade County town of Elcho discovered human remains inside, officials confirmed Monday.
According to the Langlade County Sheriff’s Department, crews were called at 5:20 a.m. Sunday to the home on County Hwy. Z. The house was fully involved when crews arrived and is being described as a total loss.
Hwy. Z runs north/south near Upper Post Lake.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, but foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
The name of the victim has not been publicly released.
