Lowell Bobert
Lowell H. Bobert, 84, of Wausau passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Nov. 7, 1934, in Wausau to the late Hugo and Caroline (Marquardt) Bobert. Lowell was a life-long resident of Wausau. He married the former Jean Radke at Trinity Lutheran Church in 1955. Family was most important to Lowell and he worked hard for over 50 years to support them. Lowell loved to be outdoors with his family and children, especially while coaching baseball or as a Scout leader. He was also a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as the president of the congregation.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; sons, Steven (Debra) Bobert of Wausau, and children, Nicole (Brian) Anderson, Brandon Bobert, and Tyler (Emma) Bobert; Brian (Mary) Bobert of Eagle River; and Clark (Sarah) Bobert of Menomonee Falls, and children, Bailee Bobert and Cody Bobert; and three great-grandchildren, Charles, Kira, and Thomas Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Caroline Bobert; parents-in-law, E. Harold (Ruth) Radke; and sisters, Myrtle (Ara) and Beatrice (Eugene).
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau, with Rev. Zach Holdorf officiating. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas.

Nancy Meverden
Nancy Meverden, 79, of Wausau passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at Cedar Creek Manor.
She was born on June 16, 1939, in Wausau to the late Henry and Regina (Sala) Lutzke. On Sept. 15, 1956, she married Richard “Bud” Meverden at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Wausau. In her earlier years, Nancy had worked at Fiskars making scissors and doing seasonal work at JW Perry making wreaths for cemeteries. After Bud retired from Weyerhauser, they traveled in their motorhome all over the United States and loved visiting Branson, Missouri. Some of Nancy’s pastimes included crocheting afghans, watching movies, collecting Beanie Babies and trips to the casino. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Bud, two sons, Randy (Mary Krueger) of Weston, Ronald of Wausau, six grandchildren, Josh (Janelle) Meverden, Travis (Shari) Meverden, Margo (William) Sherer III, Corey Meverden, Kimberly and Kelly Meverden, five great grandchildren, Carson and Ethan Meverden, Kelsey and Mara Meverden, William Sherer IV and daughter-in-law, Terese (Paul) Meverden-Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Richard.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1104 S. Ninth Ave., Wausau. Father Robert Thorn will officiate. Marion Janet Steffen
Marion Janet Steffen, 90, Wausau, died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Marion was born July 15, 1928 in Wausau to the late Gustave and Adel (Tesch) Markowski. She graduated from Wausau High School and married Gilbert Steffen on August 27, 1955 at St. Paul’s UCC in Wausau. The couple was blessed with four children: Gary, Gene, Lori and Cheryl. Marion and Gilbert celebrated 35 years together before his death in 1991.
Marion was a very down to earth, good natured woman who dearly loved her family. She was a very good mother, looking after her children as they grew up and enjoying becoming a grandmother. Marion was a very friendly and social person, quickly “adopting” her children’s friends when they visited. She was a devoted Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers football fan. Marion also enjoyed spending time up north at the family cottage on Lac du Flambeau, reading and working on crossword puzzles.
Marion is survived by her loving children, Gary Steffen, Gene Steffen, Lori (Jody) Dombrowsky and Cheryl Steffen; grandchildren, Josh (Brittney), Marshall, Lindsey, Jeffrey and Jennifer; great-grandson, Renton; brothers, Gustave Markowski Jr. and LeRoy (Cindy) Markowski; and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Mertes.
The funeral service for Marion will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial will be the following day at Restlawn Memorial Park, Town of Texas.
