The crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, the man was allegedly operating a UTV with two passengers on a trail off Pine Lake Road when a branch hanging over the trail struck a 50-year-old passenger.

The passenger who was struck was transported to a local hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by intoxicated use of a UTV, sheriff’s officials said. Charges are expected to be filed in Lincoln County Circuit Court later today.
