TOWN OF SCHOEPKE – Oneida County Sheriff’s officials have identified the man who died in a weekend snowmobile crash as 37-year-old Richard John Krook, of Pelican Lake.
Crews were called at 1:10 a.m. Sunday to the crash scene on Old 26 Road in the town of Schoepke following a 911 call, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department. Police say Krook, the driver of the snowmobile, left the designated trail and struck a group of trees.
Krook was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Oneida County Deputies along with Medic 1,Fire District Alpha,Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Officer responded to the scene and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is completing the accident report.
The crash remains under investigation.
