ROTHSCHILD — Bob Coleman and Paul Gwidt, members of a veterans memorial group bringing awareness to the Gold Star Mothers Family Memorial, spoke during a regular meeting of the Veterans Weekly Cup of Coffee in early January.

Members of the group hope to raise enough money to buy a memorial statue honoring mothers of service people and display it at Veterans Memorial Park just outside Rothschild City Hall on Sept. 30, which is Gold Star Families Day.

The fundraiser began in 2011 to honor the Wisconsin Gold Star Mothers, and their families, who lost their sons or daughters in service to the United States.
