BOULDER JUNCTION — A 59-year-old man died and two people were injured Wednesday morning after a head-on crash on Highway 51 in Boulder Junction, according to police.

The crash happened just after 10 a.m. on the snow-covered, slippery road near the intersection of Hwy. 51 and Bakken Road when two full-sized pickups collided. Rescue crews extracted several victims.

Two full-size pickup trucks hit each other just after 10 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 51 and Bakken Road. The two people injured were transported to Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, police said.

Hwy. 51 was closed for hours as crash reconstruction teams conducted their investigation. According to a WJFW report, investigators will seek information from the computer systems in both vehicles to determine the rate of speed each driver was traveling at the time of impact.
