WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

WAUSAU — Police say a 27-year-old pregnant woman was drunk and arguing with her boyfriend when her toddler suffered a skull fracture, according to court documents.

Amanda Osborne, of Wausau, appeared Tuesday in Marathon County Circuit Court on charges of child abuse-intentionally causing harm, criminal damage to property, resisting or obstructing an officer, and disorderly conduct in connection with the Jan. 4 incident.

Circuit Judge LaMont Jacobson ordered Osborne held on a $2,500 bond, with the first $500 to be paid in cash. She is also jailed on a probation hold.

According to court filings, Osborne’s boyfriend called police when an argument between the two escalated. According to the criminal complaint, police arrived at Osborne’s First Avenue residence and discovered the home in disarray and her young daughter injured.

Osborne has a lengthy criminal history with convictions for theft, battery, and an array of domestic abuse-related charges. She was twice convicted of escape, court records show.

She was convicted in December 2018 of criminal damage to property and of disorderly conduct as a domestic abuse repeater, court records show. In that case, she was given a withheld sentence and ordered to spend three years on probation. If she is convicted of the new charges she will likely be given a new sentence in the 2018 case.

The child’s current condition is not clear at this time.

A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 4.
