WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW
Crews from at least four area fire departments have been called to the scene of a fire northwest of Wausau.
The blaze was reported at about 1 p.m. Friday at 2965 Frontier Drive, which is the site of Heartland Cooperative’s Grain Division, an agricultural cooperative. Officials say the blaze appears to have broken out inside a grain elevator.
Witnesses reported seeing black smoke pouring from the area.
Fire crews arrived on scene and requested an aerial truck from Wausau along with assistance from several additional agencies.
