Schofield– The Wausau West Warriors earned their 14th win of the season on Friday night as they downed D.C. Everest by the final score of 49-35. It was a big team victory, and West senior Maddie Schires notched a major milestone, becoming Wausau West’s all time leading scorer.
Coming into the game, Schires had 1565 career points, just eleven points shy of the career mark set by Jasmin Samz.
Samz, who held the previous career mark of 1576 points, played for Wausau West from 2011-2015 and currently plays at Ball State University.
Near the end of the first half, Samz buried a three pointer to send her past the 1576 mark and into the record book at West.
