LAKE TOMAHAWK — One person is dead after a snowmobile crash Saturday in Lake Tomahawk, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department.

Police received a 911 call just before 9 p.m. Saturday alerting them to the crash, which happened on a trail off Lyannas Road and Hwy. 47. Investigators say a snowmobile left the trail and struck trees off the side of the trail.

The driver of the snowmobile died at the scene, police said.

Oneida County Deputies along with the Oneida County Ambulance, Lake Tomahawk Fire, Newbold Fire and First Responders, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the crash. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is completing the accident report.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
