LAKE TOMAHAWK — Police have identified the man killed in a snowmobile crash Saturday in Lake Tomahawk as 44-year-old Matthew S. Martens, of Green Bay.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call just before 9 p.m. Saturday alerting them to the crash, which happened on a trail off Lyannas Road and Hwy. 47. Investigators say a snowmobile driven by Martens left the trail and struck trees off the side of the trail.
Martens died ad the scene, police said.
Oneida County Deputies along with the Oneida County Ambulance, Lake Tomahawk Fire, Newbold Fire and First Responders, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the crash.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is completing the accident report.
