WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

One day after a missing Tennessee girl was found safe in Wisconsin, her adoptive father was arrested and held on a rape charge, officials said.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department in Tenn., the missing teen had last been seen Jan. 13. Wausau Pilot and Review is not releasing the teen’s name because she is the victim of an alleged crime.

Randall Pruitt was arrested Friday and is being held without bond. Sheriff’s officials confirmed Pruitt’s arrest and his daughter’s disappearance are part of the same investigation.

Officials say the teen has family in Wisconsin, but it’s not clear whether she was with a family member when she was found.

Early Friday morning, the FBI’s Milwaukee field office tweeted their thanks to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Police Department and Wisconsin DCI for their assistance in locating the teen.

The FBI is assisting in the case.

No additional details have been released about the charges.
