WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

WAUSAU — Thanks to tips from the public, a 30-year-old man who failed to return to the Marathon County Jail following a scheduled work release is back in custody.

Doua Lor failed to return to the jail Monday at 3:30 p.m. as scheduled, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department. Police attempted to contact Lor at his place of employment but were not successful.

Lor was serving a 60-day sentence on a probation violation when he walked away from the jail. Court records show he has a criminal record that includes several misdemeanor theft convictions, and has a pending case in Marathon County Circuit Court on charges of possessing drug paraphernalia.

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department posted a release early Friday on Facebook thanking the public.

“Thanks to your tips, Doua Lor is back in our custody,” the post reads. “We appreciate your support! Have a safe weekend.”
