TOWN OF RUSSELL — A 27-year-old Gleason man is in custody Monday, accused of assaulting a victim with a fire extinguisher.

Deputies responded early Monday to the Lincoln County Town of Russell after a 911 caller reported the alleged assault. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect allegedly took the victim’s vehicle after the assault.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested on felony charges of aggravated battery and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.  The man also faces misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property and bail jumping, according to a Lincoln County release.

The suspect’s name will be updated in this story after formal charges are filed.
