Court of Appeals Chief Judge Lisa Neubauer is running for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice in the April 2, 2019, election.
Neubauer graduated from UW-Madison in 1979 and University of Chicago Law School in 1987; served as law clerk for Judge Barbara Crabb of the U.S. District Court; and worked at the Milwaukee law firm Foley and Lardner from 1988 to 2007.
In 2007, Governor Doyle appointed Neubauer to a seat on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District II. She won elections to that position in 2008 and 2014. In 2009, Neubauer was appointed presiding judge of District II. The Wisconsin Supreme Court appointed her Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals in 2015 and 2018.
Judge Neubauer served on numerous committees for the state Bar Association and Supreme Court, and has been recognized for her volunteer and civic involvement, including work with the United Way and Big Sisters. She has three children and lives in Racine with her husband, Jeff.
Judge Neubauer is eminently qualified to serve on the Supreme Court. She will use her 30 years of leadership and legal experience to ensure a fair, impartial and independent court that will protect the rights of all Wisconsinites and the fundamental principles of our democracy. She has bipartisan support, having been endorsed by over 300 former and current judges, 25 sheriffs and 41 district attorneys.
