WAUSAU — Now’s your chance to learn all about drones and how to fly them.

The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point at Wausau Office of Continuing Education and Outreach Education will hold Drone 101 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 27 at the UW Center for Civic Engagement.

This class will cover quad-copter drone (most common in the marketplace today), features of drones, costs, accessories, safe and responsible operation of drones (including flight standards, pre- and post-flight planning) and maintenance, along with Federal Aviation Administration rules and regulations for drones.

Students will also be given information on industry trends, jobs and market projections. The instructor, Chad Lemmens, will bring drones to the class and fly them, depending on weather conditions.
