MERRILL — The Merrill Community Homeless Center, Inc. has renovated a building on Main Street to serve the community’s homeless population. The shelter, called MAC Home, will open on March 4.

Theresa Anthoney

Theresa Anthoney has been hired as executive director and will oversee the operation. Julie Schulz will continue part-time as the MAC home manager, and an additional eight staff members have been hired.

An open house will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at 407 W. Main St. The public is welcome to this one-time opportunity to tour the building and learn more about the needs of the homeless in the Merrill area.

Light snacks will be provided. Members of the Merrill Community Homeless Center board of directors also will be at the open house to provide tours and answer questions.
