WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

WAUSAU — A portion of Sturgeon Eddy Road on Wausau’s southeast side will be closed much of Thursday to allow for soil boring work, according to a city news release.

Public Works Director Eric Lindman said the borings will help determine soil types and detect the possible presence of bedrock or groundwater there.

“We will be extending the sewer main down Sturgeon Eddy Road and we want to make sure we know what types of souls we will be encountering,” Lindman said, in an email to Wausau Pilot and Review.

The road will close at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21. Crews will be working near the intersection of Sturgeon Eddy Road and Wisconsin Street, and near the entrance to Memorial Park. Traffic will be detoured along Fairmount Street and Weston Avenue (see the detour map, below.)

Work is expected to be completed by the end of the day Thursday.
