WAUSAU — The Wisconsin Woodchucks have begun accepting applications for a baseball equipment package valued at roughly $2,500.

This Northwoods League program, called Share the Glove, was first introduced in 2018 and is available to fans in all Northwoods League markets.

The baseball package includes two sets of catcher’s gear, eight batting helmets, 10 fielding gloves, one bucket of practice balls and six bats. The Woodchucks will award the baseball package to one organization in central Wisconsin that meets the applicable criteria related to 501(c)(3) guidelines and the Northwoods League Foundation’s Mission.

Share the Glove was introduced in 2018 as part of the Northwoods League’s 25th Season Celebration. “We were thrilled at the community response to this initiative last season,” said Gary Hoover, Northwoods League Foundation Secretary, in a news release. “Share the Glove embodies not only the mission of the Northwoods League Foundation, but the spirit of the league and its affiliates. We look forward to further inspiring participation in, and a love for, the games of baseball and softball throughout our communities.”
