MADISON — The Department of Public Instruction will hold a hearing from 10 to 11 a.m. on March 4 at department headquarters, GEF 3, Room P41, 125 South Webster Street, Madison, to take public testimony on emergency rules for the administration of the Early College Credit Program.
The emergency rules for the March 4 hearing replace emergency rules from 2018 so the department can effectively administer the Early College Credit program until promulgation of permanent rules is complete. The new emergency rules clarify that students may take one or more nonsectarian courses for high school credit, postsecondary credit, or both through online classes, in a blended environment, or through in-person attendance. The new emergency rules include provisions from the original emergency rules, which include a definition for undue financial burden and procedures for pupil transportation reimbursement.

Those intending to testify at the rules hearing will be required to present photo identification at the security desk near the Webster Street public entrance. Written comments received no later than March 14 will be given the same consideration as testimony presented at the hearing.
