Your CBD Store, a nationwide franchise, is now open at 4020 Schofield Ave., Suite 3, in Weston.
Providing a refreshing alternative to smoke shops and online ordering, the boutique-style business allows for a comfortable, spa-like environment based in consumer education and transparency. As a former Weston resident, store owner Morgan Trone said she is thrilled to return to the area and make Weston the home of her third affiliate storefront.
“We are just really excited to be here, to be a part of this wonderful community, and to hopefully share our passion for CBD,” Trone said.
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is extracted from the flowers and buds of marijuana or hemp plants. An increasingly popular natural pain remedy, CBD is used as an anti-inflammatory agent to treat migraines, insomnia, and even anxiety. CBD comes from the hemp plant, which although related to the marijuana plant, does not contain THC, the ingredient that has pyschoactive effects.
Along with CBD extraction, hemp is grown as a fiber to make clothing, rope and building materials.
For decades, hemp had been classified as a controlled substance by the federal government. But legislative changes made last year removed this designation and reclassified hemp as an agricultural product.
Your CBD Store sells a wide variety of products containing CBD including infused edibles, water solubles, concentrated tinctures, and a complete skincare line that aims to reduce wrinkles, redness, and acne spots. The boutique does sell full spectrum products, which Trone discloses may result in a positive drug test. However, they also offer broad spectrum and isolate products which do not contain traces of THC.
According to estimates from Hemp Industry Daily in the 2018 Hemp & CBD Industry Factbook, CBD sales in the U.S. are expected to exceed $1 billion by 2020.
Trone said she takes pride in being a reputable distributor.
