WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

MARATHON COUNTY — Crews from multiple agencies are responding to a report of a multi-vehicle crash Sunday involving a semi tractor trailer and an unknown number of additional vehicles.

The crash was reported at about 9:35 a.m. Sunday and happened in the westbound lane of Hwy. 29, just west of Hwy. 97. Crews from Edgar, Marathon and Wausau are en route to the scene as of 9:45 a.m. and Athens is on standby.

Scanner traffic indicates at least one vehicle is totaled. There’s no word yet on injuries.

The crash is one of numerous incidents across central Wisconsin, as a powerful storm continues wreaking havoc on the region. In Portage County, a semi tractor trailer went off the road on Hwy. 10 earlier in the day, and Wausau Pilot and Review has received preliminary reports of a building collapse in Taylor County.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
