Portage County Sheriff’s Department assists evacuation for residents without heat

PORTAGE COUNTY, Wis.

As power outages extend through Monday amid a significant dip in temperatures, members of the Portage County Sheriff’s Department are helping evacuate affected residents.

The department issued a news release Monday asking residents who are without heat or electricity to call for evacuation. Officials have vehicles ready to reach both families and pets affected, the release states.
