MARSHFIELD – Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., will sponsor the Feed My People Food Bank’s Empty Bowls 2019 event to be held March 7 at Florian Gardens in Eau Claire.

Feed My People Food Bank serves 14 western Wisconsin counties and helps thousands of people struggling to put food on the table. Attendees of the Empty Bowls event will enjoy soup, bread and desserts. Hand-crafted bowls are also available for purchase.

“No one can thrive on an empty stomach. By becoming a sponsor for Feed My People’s Empty Bowls annual fundraiser, Security Health Plan is helping many families, children and seniors who struggle with hunger,” Executive Director of Feed My People, Emily Moore, said in a news release. “Support like this from the community contributes greatly toward our mission to end hunger in west central Wisconsin.”

The money received from the Empty Bowls event will support the delivery of food donations to over 200 programs, including food pantries, meal sites, homeless shelters and backpack programs.
