WAUSAU — Keep writing those stories. The Marathon County Historical Society is again offering a structured writing class and casual club meeting.

A Few Choice Words: A Writers Workshop for Preserving Memories will be offered again in March. This class will both be a stand-alone workshop for new participants, and will build on skills learned in January and February. New writing students are welcome to attend. The next sessions will be from 10 a.m. to noon March 20 and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 23. The same content will be covered in both time slots. The workshops are led by Victoria Lindsay, a professional educator and writer. The fee is $20 per person. Participants should register in advance to receive a list of items to bring to class.

For a less formal opportunity, participants in the I Remember When Club are encouraged to write a personal story each month and share it with the group. Memory prompts are offered as a guide, but participants are free to choose their own topic. I Remember When meets monthly on the second Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The next meeting will be March 14 at the Woodson History Center, 410 McIndoe St., Wausau. This club is free and drop-ins are welcome.

Whether you are an older person who wants to preserve memories for posterity, or you are a younger person who wants to collect those stories from a loved one, consider attending either or both the I Remember When Club and A Few Choice Words: A Writers Workshop for Preserving Memories.
