THREE LAKES — A massive fire destroyed the Oneida Village Inn in Three Lakes late Monday night, according to a WJFW report.

Crews from multiple agencies spent hours battling the blaze in subzero temperatures from Monday night into Tuesday morning. There’s no word yet on what caused the blaze.

WJFW reports a bartender smelled smoke but didn’t see any flames in the restaurant section of the inn, located on Superior Street. Then she had calls from customers in one of the motel’s guest rooms saying they could barely breathe. Employees rushed to the back of the motel to help guests escape through windows as flames raced through the building.
Three Lakes Fire Chief Dave Kirby confirmed early Tuesday morning everyone got out of the building safely, WJFW reported.
The building is a total loss.
This is the second building in Three Lakes to be destroyed by fire in a month. On February 13 the Three Lakes Diner caught fire.
